WiAdvance Partners with DigiMed to Develop FHIR Platform for MinSheng Medical
WiAdvance, the innovative cloud service provider under the Wistron Group, has partnered with DigiMed to implement the international FHIR healthcare standard into MinSheng Medical's system, linking the HIS system and patient records at MinSheng General Hospital and Smart Medical City Clinic. This integration connects various domains such as "medicine, pharmacy, and lab" and, in collaboration with III, showcases the FHIR healthcare data service proof of concept. This partnership aims to accelerate cross-system medical cooperation and foster diverse healthcare innovations and value-added services.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has been promoting the FHIR standard for healthcare data exchange. In 2022, Taiwan transitioned its Electronic Medical Record Exchange Center (EEC) to a FHIR-based framework, improving healthcare quality and aligning with international standards. FHIR enables seamless integration of healthcare data across different stages of care, allowing for real-time decision-making and addressing issues of inconsistent data formats and siloed systems in Taiwan.
With patient consent, MinSheng General Hospital and Smart Medical City Clinic, in partnership with WiAdvance, DigiMed, and Taiwan AI Cloud (TWCC), converted over 26,000 medical records, improving efficiency by 30% and reducing consultation time by 30%. WiAdvance's FHIR Portal platform enables secure access to patient records and medication information, paving the way for more value-added healthcare services and expanding data interoperability benefits.
Dr. Michael Hsia, President of WiAdvance, highlighted that the FHIR framework aligns with international standards and the Ministry of Health and Welfare's policies. While converting complex medical data is challenging, WiAdvance's FHIR Portal platform simplifies the process with built-in conversion modules. The WiAdvance FHIR team, with three years of experience in Taiwan's FHIR interoperability testing, helps healthcare institutions adopt international standards and supports further applications.
